Connect ChatGPT to GES.
Use your website’s MCP endpoint to make GES tools available in ChatGPT. Setup and write access depend on your ChatGPT account and workspace policies; GES Free and ChatGPT plan eligibility are separate.
Before you begin
Activate GES Free on the website you want to connect. In WordPress, open GES → MCP & OAuth and copy the endpoint and connection details shown by your installation. Use that website’s endpoint, rather than the GES marketing website.
1. Add your server
On ChatGPT web, open Plugins, select the plus button and choose Add custom MCP server. Name the connection and enter your public HTTPS MCP endpoint. Configure authentication using the details from GES, review the warning and finish creating the plugin.
If your account still shows the legacy Apps interface, use Settings → Apps → Create, or ask your workspace administrator. Enter the endpoint and authentication details, scan the tools and finish creating the app. Available controls depend on workspace permissions.
2. Authorize your website
Follow the authentication prompt. On the WordPress authorization screen, confirm the website and signed-in user, review the requested access, and approve only the permissions needed for your intended tasks. Enter credentials only on the relevant sign-in screen.
3. Select GES in a conversation
Install or enable the resulting plugin. Start a conversation, type @ and select your GES connection. If tools are unavailable, check that the plugin is enabled and your workspace permits its use.
Check the connection
In WordPress, open GES → MCP & OAuth, Prompts or How to Use. Find the Connect your AI to GES card and select Copy AI Setup Prompt. Paste it into your connected conversation. This asks the assistant to read the GES guides and discover the current account, permissions and available operations before making changes.
Confirm that it reports the correct website. A successful connection does not grant unrestricted access: WordPress capabilities, connection permissions, supported adapters and your GES plan still apply.
If setup fails
Check that GES is active and copy the current MCP endpoint from your own installation. The remote assistant must be able to reach it. If authentication or discovery fails, capture the error message and check the GES connection configuration before retrying. Never paste passwords, client secrets or access tokens into chat.
